Yep ...we are all still patiently waiting for the day when the people from world's oldest continuing culture, holding the same legal rights as a rock on a track before 1967, the traditional owners of this land, are at least acknowledged in the Constitution of Australia as part of the development of a treaty and edge closer to true reconciliation.

Bambara Rd, Kariong

The infamous Bambara Rd Emu
This is a small site consisting of a single engraving: an emu. There are a range of different styles that emus have been engraved with this one sharing common characteristics with some and identical to others in locations south of the Hawkesbury River. This emu is located in the bed of a creek and is well outside the boundary of private land that was the subject of intense debate and resulted in a tent embassy protest and subsequent purchase by Gosford City Council - swindle! This emu was recorded by WD Campbell in 1899. The more important engravings are located a kilometre or so downstream. These were not recorded by W.D.Campbell.
