Yep ...we are all still patiently waiting for the day when the people from world's oldest continuing culture, holding the same legal rights as a rock on a track before 1967, the traditional owners of this land, are at least acknowledged in the Constitution of Australia as part of the development of a treaty and edge closer to true reconciliation.

Cave Art Site, Apple Tree Bay, Bobbin Head, Kuringai National Park

Detail of Kangaroo

Detail of Kangaroo, Shields, and boomerangs

Defaced section that once contained stencils
This cave art site is located exactly as William Dugald Campbell described it in 1899. At that time he recorded that people had defaced the paintings but that the charcoal drawings were in tact. In 2020 his description holds fast. Once again, if you didn't know what you are looking for i.e. the charcoal drawings ...you wouldn't find them. Absolutely beautiful and near Apple Tree Bay.

Bobbin Head

Main Man
This site consists of a small number of engravings with the central engraving being a man. The site is accessible via the Bobbin Head Mangrove Track Walk.

Old Bobbin Head Road, Bobbin Head

Rare engraving - woman in XRAY Style
This is a very rare site. Baiame is present with a woman in XRAY style. There are other engravings nearby. This platform is located towards the end of the Old Bobbin Head Road Track is is usually covered in casuarina needles. Interesting it aligns with another sacred site across the water on the Cowan Track.

Old Bobbin Head Rd, Bobbin Head

This collection of engravings can be found on the Old Bobbin Head Road Track in Kuringai National Park. Whilst the main collection are remarkably preserved another nearby group have been destroyed.  These are about a 20 minute walk from the gates of the NPWS.
