Sacred Site, Cottage Point Area, Kuringai National Park

Skate or Stingray

Mundoe engraving

One of several engraving platforms in this area

Several engraving platforms exist on the western side of the large hill, sometimes referred to by locals as Xmas Tree Hill, on Cottage Point Road near Cottage Point. These platforms are about 270 metres north of the Ausgrid access trail at the top of the hill.

Interestingly, these platforms are all in line of site of another major engraving site, twin Baiame figures, some 330 metres to the west and on the opposite side of the roadway. This collection features collections of tools e.g. clubs, mundoes and some weathered spirit beings. There is an additional sacred site featuring another two spirit beings some 300 metres west.
