Yep ...we are all still patiently waiting for the day when the people from world's oldest continuing culture, holding the same legal rights as a rock on a track before 1967, the traditional owners of this land, are at least acknowledged in the Constitution of Australia as part of the development of a treaty and edge closer to true reconciliation.

Large Whale flanked by two fish, Costens Trail


This large Whale, accompanied by 2 large fish is located toward the north end of a series of scattreed rock platforms west of Costens Trail. This platform has a beautiful view over the bay area and on towards the skyline of the Sydney.

Pair of Whales, Costens Point Trail


This is the second Whale in a pair that can be found on a rock platform located west of the Costen's Point Trail. Pairs of Whales in this area may be rare - unlike some sacred sites in Guringai Territory e.g. Daley's Point.

Large Whale, Costen's Point Trail


This large (10-12 ft) banded Whale is to be found on a series of scattered rock platforms west of the Costen's Point Trail. The band across the middle of the Whale is interesting and not too disimilar from others in Guringai Territory, particularly in the Kariong area.

These crescent shaped engravings are located on a large number of scattered rock platforms west of the Costen's Point Trail, Maianbar Rd, Royal National Park. These are not axe grinding grooves. Several axe grinding areas are also present in this area.

Feint Engraving, Costen's Point Trail, Royal National Park


A series of feint engravings are located on a large number of scattered rock platforms west of the Costen's Point Trail, Maianbar Rd, Royal National Park. This is one of several that remain on rock surfaces that appear to be rapidly eroding away.
