Yep ...we are all still patiently waiting for the day when the people from world's oldest continuing culture, holding the same legal rights as a rock on a track before 1967, the traditional owners of this land, are at least acknowledged in the Constitution of Australia as part of the development of a treaty and edge closer to true reconciliation.

Yep - we are all still waiting ....

Emu Site, Faulconbridge, Blue Mountains

One of three emus on this engraving site.
This engraving site is well known and signposted and is easily accessible in Faulconbridge, Blue Mountains. There are 3 emus, some mundoes, plenty of axe grooves and a range of other engravings. It is unusual to see so many emus in one engraving area. An area that includes what appears to be two weathered concentric circles spookily is similar to a figure of a weathered Daramulan figure present at a sacred site near the Rocla Sand Quarry in Calga, NSW.

Emu Cave, Bell's Line of Road, north of Mt Tomah, Blue Mountains

Emu track engravings lining the cave walls
This is one of the most amazing places that I have been fortunate to visit. This cave was nearly destroyed by the building of the Bell's Line of Road but was somehow saved. The cave itself is only about 13 metres from the roadway and features over 170 engravings, mostly emu tracks that line the walls. There are several engravings nearby including what appear to be a couple of shields on top of the cave. Unfortunately there is some graffitti outside the cave - eternal challenge!
