Yep ...we are all still patiently waiting for the day when the people from world's oldest continuing culture, holding the same legal rights as a rock on a track before 1967, the traditional owners of this land, are at least acknowledged in the Constitution of Australia as part of the development of a treaty and edge closer to true reconciliation.

Yep - we are all still waiting ....

TopHam Trig, Topham Track, West Head

Rare Engraving - well away from main group
There are numerous engravings on Topham Trig Hill. Most are difficult to find given the difficulty of the terrain and the presence of large Tiger Snakes. Baiame is present as is Daramulan nearby. The main site did have a large shoal of fish and a shark (total fires in excess of 90+)/ There are several pitted figures in various places near rock ledges that can be found. There is really no easy way to reach the Trig Marker which is quite a distance from the main fish group. Recent back burning has meant that the sites can be reached more easily. Best to take someone with you and attack the Trig from it's most western point and follow the rock ledges. I would recommend a good GPS as it likely that you will want to explore the whole hill and end up criss-crossing the whole site. This site falls within the top ten of sites in the Sydney/Hawkesbury District in terms of numbers of engravings in one site/location.
