Yep ...we are all still patiently waiting for the day when the people from world's oldest continuing culture, holding the same legal rights as a rock on a track before 1967, the traditional owners of this land, are at least acknowledged in the Constitution of Australia as part of the development of a treaty and edge closer to true reconciliation.

Emu Cave, Bell's Line of Road, north of Mt Tomah, Blue Mountains

This is one of the most amazing places that I have been fortunate to visit. This cave was nearly destroyed by the building of the Bell's Line of Road but was somehow saved. The cave itself is only about 13 metres from the roadway and features over 170 engravings, mostly emu tracks that line the walls. There are several engravings nearby including what appear to be a couple of shields on top of the cave. Unfortunately there is some graffitti outside the cave - eternal challenge!
