Yep ...we are all still patiently waiting for the day when the people from world's oldest continuing culture, holding the same legal rights as a rock on a track before 1967, the traditional owners of this land, are at least acknowledged in the Constitution of Australia as part of the development of a treaty and edge closer to true reconciliation.

Emu, Terrigal Skillion

This site, recorded by FS Bell in 1946 & FD McCarthy in 1954, once contained 31 engravings ranging from a pair of emus, a pair of dingos, fish, and clubs. This site nearly eluded me - found finally after 5 attempts. What remains of the 31 figures, exposed to the ravages of time (wave erosion), is a single emu that is very difficult to locate. Sadly, no initiated male Guringai were left to participate in re-grooving the figures after white settlement on the Central Coast. The site is located on an expanse of light grey coloured sandstone not far from the wash zone below Terrigal Skillon (formerly known as Broken Head).
