Yep ...we are all still patiently waiting for the day when the people from world's oldest continuing culture, holding the same legal rights as a rock on a track before 1967, the traditional owners of this land, are at least acknowledged in the Constitution of Australia as part of the development of a treaty and edge closer to true reconciliation.

Yep - we are all still waiting ....

Engravings ,Original Bairne Trig Station, West Head

Original Bairne Trig Station with Surveyor Mark 33 36 47.8 /151 17 8.2

A series of feint engravings south of the native bee colony that is about 100 metres north of the original Trig Station.

Large Rock Platform about 130 metres from the original Bairne Trig Area.

W.D.Campbell in 1899 recorded two engraving sites on Bairne Trig at West Head. The locations of these were very difficult to identify due to encroaching vegetation and the suggested actual co-ordinates of Bairne Trig itself.

Bairne Trig is located on the south east edge of the upper platform - strangely perhaps not the highest point on the hill. It is located on a rock that has seemed to have broken away from the main rock platform. It is tricky to find and another site I probably wouldn't attempt to reach outside of winter.
